The performer gives a wooden tube and a pencil to a spectator, and then he turns his back to him.
The spectator puts the pencil into the tube with its tip pointing down or up, at his choice, and then closes the tube with a cap.
The magician will always know where the pencil is pointing... and everything can be examined!
